Fixers is a charity giving young people a voice to enable them to transform a challenging situation or experience into a positive. Fixers are aged 16-25, often from vulnerable and marginalised backgrounds with 44% coming from the 20% most deprived areas across the UK. Experts by experience, they tell their stories to inspire other people and facilitate real social change in a range of areas from eating disorders and drugs, to FGM, cyberbullying and transgender issues. Fixers are given support to spread their message by making a film, digital, print or other creative resource. Some are shared via mass broadcasting (45 mins of ITV news coverage every month), others by social media, and involvement in public events. Over 21,000 Fixers have worked on 2,350 projects to date. Their resources are viewed by millions in schools, at home, online and at conferences.
