Mothiur Rahman is a visible community activist in Sheffield, working tirelessly to represent community views and solve problems for the benefit of all. Mothiur serves as a school governor at the High Hazels Academy and is Chair of the Darnall forum; promoting inclusion, education & cohesion. He is also Secretary of the Staniforth Neighbourhood Centre and has been a Member of the Elahi Mosque for fifteen years. Morhiur works with the local police inspector and neighbourhood policing team to diffuse tension, and communicates with local councilors to ensure the community is being truly represented. Mothiur is passionate about incorporating the culture of his ancestral roots from the Bangladeshi diaspora, which have been under-represented in comparison to other communities in Sheffield. His collective work to raise awareness has given this particular community a voice and recognition.
