Warrington Youth Club’s ethos is ‘Inspiring Young People to Achieve’. Within their diverse and exciting programme of work, all their projects have one thing in common. They offer personal and social development opportunities for young people to grow and flourish, and make a positive impact on their communities. The charity has developed over the years becoming the largest voluntary youth provision in Warrington, and now supports over 4,000 children and young people. The Buddy Up project specifically supports children and young people with additional needs, who are at risk of becoming socially isolated. Young people referred to the project are supported by a young volunteer “Buddy”, within a social setting for one hour per week, over the course of 12 months. The project is having a phenomenal impact, boosting confidence, social skills and encouraging young people to mix with their peer group.
