Yorkshire Water has made significant progress since the launch of their first Diversity & inclusion Steering Group in 2013. Over the last three years, the company has progressively moved to a far stronger position and there is a clear focus on the actions and improvements required to champion equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), in all that they do. Yorkshire Water have 4 key streams which colleagues lead on, these are Ability, Ethnicity, Gender and LGBT*. Colleagues from across the business are involved in the streams and they run a number of projects and activities aligned to the streams. Some examples include, supported Internships for students with an autistic spectrum condition in partnership with the Lighthouse Futures Trust; National Women in Engineering Day featuring a week of workshops for young female students; and Black History talks and seminars for customers and employees.
