Alisha Standing (she/her) is a PR and communications expert and has a passion for the fight for equality. She also thrives when working with the tech community and has worked with multiple startups in the tech, AI and gaming spaces. Outside of work, Alisha has worked on Skepta’s album cover, danced in Jords’ music video and completed a Psychology & Philosophy course with The Philadelphia Association.

Notable contributions for the award:
• Works with a company called The Future Plate that brings African and Caribbean to the forefront and brings about similar opportunities like Michelin stars and publicity.
• Supports homeless charities by volunteering at a variety of homes which enable people to get access to medical and psychological help. She previously participated in the Big Sleep Out to raise money for UK homeless charities.
• Participated in a documentary and roundtable discussion called "Vanishing Women" that delves into toxic work culture and how we can create spaces of safety for women and people of colour.
• Developed a media training package for people of colour and women to allow them to communicate effectively and educationally when faced with potentially racist and sexist questions from journalists.
• Worked with Code Coven to shine a light on the work they do to ensure equality and inclusivity within the tech and gaming industry.
• Is a regular voice of BBC Asian Network discussing various topics like, interracial marriage, relationships and supporting BAME businesses as well as supporting the asian community
