We're Denhue and Natalie founders of Little Scholars Playground, we create diverse children’s books and learning resources. In 2020 we were having a casual conversation after having our daughter about how difficult it is to find wide-ranging books for young children with diverse characters as well as learning resources that truly represent the society, we live in. As people of action, we quickly determined that between us, we possess the skillset to begin to chip-away at this problem. Denhue is the author of all of our books and learning resources and Natalie is the illustrator.
Between us we also have 20 years’ experience of working in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) industry. Natalie as a product designer (web and app design) and developer and Denhue as a senior aerospace engineer. So we’re also passionate about encouraging young Black people to embrace STEM. As Black people are very underrepresented in this industry.
