Cards for Bravery is an organisation brightening the days of hospitalised, seriously ill and disabled children. Created by Katie Callaghan at the age of 13, they have worked tirelessly over the last 7 years to impact as many sick children as possible. Cards for Bravery has distributed over 13,000 handmade cards to hospitals and hospices across the UK; as well as disabled children who are being cared for at home. This exceptional initiative also runs projects such as distributing Activity Packs for hospital children wards, of which over 500 booklets have been distributed thus far, and Bravery Packages (care packages) for children and young people suffering from long term conditions/disabilities. Having a small but fantastic volunteer team, Cards for Bravery have expanded significantly over the last 3 years and still continue to do so. This small community organisation truly are unsung heroes.
