Positive Role Model Award: Race, Religion & Faith

Sexual Health Practitioner, Trainee Health Psychologist and Researcher, Uzochi’s passion lies with addressing the long-existing poor sexual health inequalities observed amongst racially minoritised communities. Currently in his final year of his professional doctorate at UWE Bristol, Uzochi is actively trying to understand the barriers that racially marginalised communities experience when accessing and engaging with sexual health and HIV care, with the aim of using this understanding to promote and influence change. Creating a special interest group at the British Association of Sexual Health and HIV, Uzochi is paving the way in identifying priorities for research and policy changes, ensuring real life impact on the sexual wellbeing of racially minoritised people in the UK. Acknowledged as a sexual health community champion, Uzochi is fearless in his campaign to underpin relevant and appropriate interventions to improve sexual health outcomes.
