Afro Leads is an online platform created by two sisters, Dr Julie Duodu and Stephanie Amor, who are on a mission to celebrate and promote Black British business and culture. Both based in Leeds, the two entrepreneurs were keen to create a platform that represented the whole of Black Britain, and not a solely stereotypical London-centric perspective. The work of Afro Leads is inclusive and wide reaching and this is demonstrated by the diversity and engagement of their followers. They have a monthly column in OK! online highlighting enterprises and the premise of Black Pound Day, as well as commentary on local and regional radio. The Afro Leads podcast and website resources help further learning and illustrate the vast and growing representation in Black British culture in the past, currently to help shape a brighter tomorrow for the next generation to come.
