Alan Shearer CBE DL is an English football pundit and former professional player who played as a striker. Widely regarded as one of the best strikers of his generation and one of the greatest players in Premier League history, he is the Premier League's record goalscorer with 260 goals. Alan Founded the Alan Shearer Foundation, set up to directly support the Alan Shearer Centre – a highly specialist, disability, respite, residential and social provision for people with complex and acute disabilities and sensory impairments. The foundation ensures facilities, including specialist leisure activities and respite breaks, remain free to use for disabled people and their families. Every year they host a Foundation Ball to raise funds towards free sensory and specialist leisure activities. Alan is an Ambassador for the NSPCC and was awarded a CBE in 2016 for his contributions towards charity.
