Community Organisation Award: Disability
Accessible Calderdale Disability Access Forum (ACDAF) is a powerful, lived-experience-led collective working to make Calderdale a more inclusive and accessible place. As part of the Accessible Calderdale Project, this pan-disability group champions equal rights, inclusive design, and meaningful participation in community life. With members representing a wide range of disabilities and backgrounds, ACDAF ensures that voices often unheard are central to the planning and delivery of services, venues, and green spaces. Their work spans transport, mental health, culture, and sport, delivering over 100 access audits and transforming spaces. From influencing infrastructure to supporting changing places facilities and arts inclusion, their work has shaped regeneration, boosted confidence, and changed attitudes. ACDAF exemplifies how co-production with disabled people drives true equality and brings lasting, community-wide impact, proving that when you get it right for disabled people, you get it right for everyone.
