Community Organisation Award: Disability
The ADD-vance ADHD and Autism Trust is a Hertfordshire-based charity dedicated to embracing and celebrating neurodiversity. Founded nearly 30 years ago, ADD-vance empowers parents, carers, and professionals to better support neurodivergent children and young people. Their work includes a vital helpline, expert-led training, support groups, and empowerment courses that help families and professionals build confidence and understanding. Every member of the team brings lived experience as a parent or carer, making their support deeply empathetic and impactful. In the past year alone, ADD-vance answered over 2,000 helpline calls, trained 7,700 people, supported 500 families, and helped 170 young people embrace their neurodivergence. Their inclusive approach has inspired systemic improvements across Hertfordshire, influencing policy, education, and access to support. ADD-vance remains a lifeline for many and a driving force for creating a more neuro-inclusive society.
