Community Organisation Award: Race, Religion & Faith
Europia, founded in 2008, is a Greater Manchester-based charity dedicated to empowering vulnerable Central and Eastern European (CEE) migrant communities, particularly Polish, Romanian, Roma, and Ukrainian groups. Through free multilingual welfare advice, EU Settlement Scheme support, health and wellbeing services, and crisis aid, Europia addresses barriers like discrimination, language, and access to public funds. The organisation runs community initiatives such as the Roma Rights Project, Women’s Group, and Europia Art Collective to foster resilience and inclusion. Led by migrants with lived experience, Europia’s trauma-informed approach builds trust and provides culturally sensitive support, including mental health counselling and advocacy. It has positively impacted hundreds annually, strengthened community cohesion, and influenced regional health and social policies. Europia exemplifies holistic support and integration for often overlooked migrant populations, enabling them to thrive and feel at home in the UK.
