2025 Shortlisted Nominee
Positive Role Model Award: Race, Religion & Faith
Jakia is a passionate advocate for women’s health and a proud Support Group Leader for Endometriosis UK in Gloucestershire, one of the largest groups in the country. Living with DIE endometriosis and adenomyosis herself, she offers a safe, empathetic space for others facing similar challenges, especially within the BAME community. Jakia uses her lived experience to break the silence around women’s health and empower others to speak up and self-advocate. She has raised over £2,000 through creative fundraising events, including community cake sales, and led initiatives like the Cheltenham parkrun takeover for Endometriosis Action Month. Beyond her advocacy, she’s training as a Run Leader to inspire others through movement and confidence. Jakia’s work continues to create meaningful change through connection, awareness, and compassion, all while never forgetting to bring baked goodies along the way.
