From humble beginnings in a home kitchen to two high street locations, the restaurant has become a local favourite for dishes like jollof rice, egusi soup, and suya wings crafted with care, tradition, and bold flavour. With a tagline of “Chop Better Food”, Uwagboe’s champions cultural inclusivity and high-quality cooking, offering vegan, halal, and gluten-free options to suit all dietary needs. Beyond its award-winning dine-in experience, the restaurant also provides event catering and has played a vital role in introducing and elevating Nigerian food culture in Scotland. Now employing 15–20 staff and recognised in the Scottish Takeaway Awards, Uwagboe’s continues to grow, connecting communities through flavour and providing a warm, welcoming space for all.
