Sahir is Liverpool’s longest-running LGBTQ+ and HIV support charity, proudly serving communities for over 40 years. As a dual support service, Sahir offers tailored help to people living with or affected by HIV and LGBTQ+ individuals across the Liverpool City Region. Their work spans mental health, advocacy, peer support, training, and specialist asylum guidance for LGBTQ+ refugees. Rooted in compassion and driven by equality, Sahir breaks down stigma, fights discrimination, and ensures no one is left behind. From shaping inclusive policies to providing lifesaving support, the organisation transforms lives every day. Their nomination for the Community Organisation Award for LGBT recognises the tireless dedication of Sahir’s staff, volunteers, and allies.
