Steph Richards2025 Shortlisted Nominee
Positive Role Model Award: Gender

Steph is a dedicated human rights activist with over two decades of experience campaigning on pregnancy, sudden infant death syndrome, and women’s and trans rights. As founder and CEO of Translucent.Org.UK, she has established the organisation as a leading voice for the trans community, regularly engaging with government ministers to influence policy. Steph’s activism includes the #EveryThreeDays campaign, remembering women killed by men, and leadership roles in Endometriosis South Coast and Women’s Action Network Portsmouth. She also fights against racism and far-right extremism through Stand Up to Racism, and promotes mental health and inclusion with Engendering Change. Despite facing significant transphobia, Steph continues to champion equality, diversity, and inclusion across multiple intersecting causes. Her lifelong commitment to justice, resilience, and visibility has made her a powerful role model and advocate for marginalised communities.
