Stephen Gill is a multi-award-winning engineer, international consultant, and founder of World Refrigeration Day. With over 45 years in the HVACR sector, he has led global businesses, advised governments, and shaped industry policy ,all while championing diversity, inclusion, and sustainability. A past president of the UK Institute of Refrigeration and Chair of global standards bodies, Stephen has also founded impactful initiatives, including the International Network for Women in Cooling (INWIC) and Dyslexia in Engineering Day, drawing on his own lived experiences to advocate for under-represented groups. His global mentoring efforts, support for BAME women engineers, and work with organisations like UNIDO and UNEP reflect a lifelong commitment to equity. Stephen’s leadership continues to transform engineering into a more inclusive, forward-thinking profession, proving that technical excellence and human impact go hand in hand.
