Sue is a passionate youth worker, football fan, gamer, and proud visible gay woman dedicated to empowering LGBTQIA+ young people since 2014. Growing up during Section 28 and facing homophobic bullying and hate crimes, Sue channels her lived experience into building safe, inclusive spaces where young people can be themselves and have their voices heard. She collaborates with local police, sexual health teams, and community groups, and has led Sefton's youth participation at Liverpool Pride since 2015. Known for her honest storytelling and advocacy, Sue fights hate and stereotypes while pushing for meaningful workplace and policy changes. She serves on multiple LGBTQIA+ panels and boards, shaping inclusion and equity beyond grassroots work. Sue’s commitment to compassion, resilience, and visibility inspires others to overcome adversity, find belonging, and create lasting change in their communities.
