The Kindness Postbox is a volunteer-led initiative founded in April 2021 by two friends with long-term health conditions who recognised the impact of isolation. It places a rainbow-topped, child-sized postbox in schools for children to share letters, drawings and poems, which are then delivered to care home residents and isolated individuals. What began as a local response to loneliness now spans the UK, Northern Ireland, America and Australia through over 60 partnerships with libraries, hospitals and councils. The Kindness Postbox continues to spark joy and connection, proving that small acts of kindness can have a global impact.
