The Special Lioness is a charity based in Washington, Tyne and Wear, founded in 2017 by two mothers of children with profound disabilities. It supports families of children with additional needs, disabilities and life-limiting conditions by offering guidance, practical advice and enriching experiences. Open to all regardless of diagnosis, it creates joyful moments for children through fundraising events while fostering peer support and friendships among parents and carers. Driven by a belief in cherishing every moment, The Special Lioness builds an inclusive community where every family feels understood, supported and celebrated.
