Active Lives is a / Muslim women-led grassroots organisation in Newport, Wales, founded to address the hidden inequalities faced by Muslim women experiencing isolation, racism, trauma, language barriers, poor mental health, unpaid caring responsibilities and belonging. Rooted in lived experience, trusted voices provide culturally safe, trauma-informed spaces where women can connect, build confidence and improve wellbeing. With over 15 languages represented, Active Lives delivers practical skills training, digital inclusion, confidence-building workshops and culturally relevant wellbeing activities shaped through co‑production. Its multi-award-winning work empowers women to develop independence, leadership and meaningful social connection, ensuring Muslim women feel valued, heard and able to thrive within their communities.
