Community Organisation Award: Gender
Afghan Sisters Community (ASC), led by Nasima Samadi and the ASC team, is a women-led organisation empowering Afghan women, girls and families through education, wellbeing support, advocacy and cultural connection. Created to address isolation, language barriers and the challenges of rebuilding life in a new society, the organisation provides English classes, mental health support, mentoring, awareness workshops and community events that strengthen confidence and independence. Its safe, inclusive spaces help women develop skills, form friendships, start small businesses and participate actively in their communities. Celebrating resilience and identity, ASC promotes diversity, inclusion and women’s empowerment while supporting Afghan women to thrive with dignity, hope and a strong sense of belonging.
