Asian Single Parents Network CIC (ASPN) is the UK’s leading lived experience-led organisation dedicated to supporting, empowering, and advocating for South Asian single parents. Founded in 2011 by Aruna Bansal following her own experience of single parenthood and cultural stigma, ASPN provides peer-led, culturally competent services for families facing challenges including honour-based pressures, domestic abuse, financial hardship, and social isolation. What began as a small support group has grown into a national community movement. Many parents come to the organisation feeling isolated, ashamed or unsupported after relationship breakdown. ASPN creates safe, non-judgemental spaces where parents rebuild confidence, reduce isolation, improve wellbeing, and create brighter futures for themselves and their children.
