The Association of Blind Asians (ABA) is a Leeds‑based charity supporting visually impaired adults from diverse communities through practical advocacy, emotional support and culturally informed services. Founded in 1980 by a blind South Asian woman and formally established in 1989, ABA now supports over 1,600 people directly each year and reaches a further 2,700 through health outreach. With a multilingual, representative staff and Trustee board, ABA provides health advocacy, benefits support, digital inclusion, accessible activities and co‑designed groups for predominantly older adults. Our service is inclusive and person-centred, valuing differences and celebrating diversity.
