Positive Role Model Award: Disability
Brian King, known online as Kingb, is a Scotland‑based disability advocate raising awareness of Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), a condition he has lived with his entire life. After spending more than 20 years without a diagnosis, Brian now uses his platform to support others navigating the same uncertainty, offering guidance, information and mental‑health support. He has built an online community group chat on facebook of more than 700 members, creating a safe space where people with FND can connect, share experiences and feel less alone. Brian is recognised for his compassion, honesty and commitment to ensuring no one faces FND without understanding or support.
