David Barton BCAa FRSA is the founder of Get Started Art, a charity using creativity to support mental health and reduce isolation across generations. Inspired during COVID and shaped by supporting a family member with additional needs, he began donating arts and crafts materials using his last savings. This grew into a movement that has provided almost two million free resources to hospitals, care homes, schools and community groups across the UK and internationally. His work supports children, young people and older adults, including those living with dementia. David’s impact has earned national recognition, including the British Citizen Award and Fellowship of the RSA.
