David Harewood is a British actor, director and mental health advocate known for roles in Homeland, Supergirl and The Night Manager. Born in Birmingham, he has spoken powerfully about racism, identity and his lived experience of psychosis, documented in his book and BBC film Psychosis and Me. David campaigns for better mental health support, particularly for Black communities, and challenges structural inequalities within healthcare and media. He serves as an ambassador for mental health charities and uses his platform to push for systemic change. As a National Diversity Awards Celebrity of the Year finalist, David represents courageous storytelling and intersectional advocacy.
