Community Organisation Award: Multi-Strand
Ethnic Minority Council (EMC) is a Wolverhampton-based organisation advancing equality, diversity, inclusion, voice and representation across the Black Country and wider West Midlands. Founded in 2002, EMC supports ethnic minority communities, faith groups, refugees, women, young people and older adults through culturally inclusive programmes that reduce isolation, improve wellbeing and strengthen cohesion. Working at grassroots and strategic levels, EMC ensures underrepresented communities are heard and represented in local decision-making. As an infrastructure organisation, it delivers interfaith initiatives, community events and capacity-building support for over 50 grassroots organisations. Its flagship Faith & Communities Connected project reached over 1,500 people, while the Equality and Diversity Partnership has grown to more than 80 members.
