Gaydio is the UK’s national LGBTQ+ radio station and a pioneering voice for inclusion, representation and community connection. Founded in Manchester in 2006 as a volunteer‑led project, it has grown into a major broadcaster reaching hundreds of thousands of listeners across 13 cities. Alongside music, entertainment and award‑winning speech content, Gaydio delivers transformative community impact through the Gaydio Academy, providing training, mentoring and pathways into media for young people, trans communities, people of colour and those facing social or economic barriers. Through broadcasting, outreach and the annual Gaydio Awards, Gaydio continues to champion diversity and use media as a powerful tool for social change.
