Community Organisation Award: LGBT
GYRO is Liverpool’s LGBTQ+ youth group and 1:1 support service, and the longest‑running LGBTQ+ youth provision in the UK, celebrating 50 years in 2026. Supporting hundreds of young people aged 11–25 each year, GYRO offers open‑access socials, targeted trans+ group work and specialist 1:1 session that help young people explore identity, navigate relationships, manage dysphoria and build confidence. Delivered by a dedicated team of queer practitioners whose lived experience strengthens their practice, GYRO provides safe, dynamic and affirming spaces where young people can connect, learn and be themselves. For many, GYRO is not just support; it is community, belonging and a lifeline.
