Community Organisation Award: Multi-Strand
Herefordshire Mind is the county’s largest mental health charity, supporting adults across Herefordshire to ensure no one faces mental health difficulties alone. Founded in 1978, the charity has grown from community‑based residential care into a multi‑site organisation delivering counselling, peer support, crisis services, supported housing and inclusive wellbeing programmes. With 50 staff and 45 volunteers, over 90% of whom have lived experience. Herefordshire Mind champions representation, accessibility and trauma‑informed practice. Its Safe Haven service provides same‑day, out‑of‑hours support, while specialist groups, including the county’s only transgender peer group, remove barriers for marginalised communities. Herefordshire Mind creates safe, trusted spaces where people feel heard, valued and supported.
