2026 Shortlisted Nominee
Lifetime Achiever Award
Janet Williams MBE is a leading national campaigner who has spent more than 30 years raising awareness of the harm caused by sodium valproate and supporting families affected by Fetal Valproate Spectrum Disorder. After her sons were born with disabilities linked to valproate exposure, Janet began speaking publicly at a time when almost no information was available to women. She later co‑founded INFACT, building a community that supports thousands of families across the UK and internationally. Her tireless advocacy has influenced Parliament, strengthened media scrutiny and contributed to major regulatory changes, including improved warnings and the landmark Independent Medicines and Medical Devices Safety Review.
