Community Organisation Award: Age
MAMA Youth Project is an award‑winning charity transforming the lives of young people from underrepresented and disadvantaged backgrounds by creating direct pathways into the media and creative industries. Founded in 2005 by Bob Clarke, whose lived experience shapes its mission, the organisation has trained more than 1,000 young people, including care leavers, ex‑offenders and those at risk of exploitation, through intensive, industry‑led programmes combining practical skills, mentoring and pastoral support. Alumni now work across major broadcasters such as the BBC, Sky, Banijay, Disney and Warner Bros, with many returning to support new cohorts. Recognised nationally, including a BAFTA Television Craft Special Award in 2024, MAMA Youth Project continues to drive representation and opportunity across the industry.
