Positive Role Model Award: Race, Religion & Faith
Omraw Khan is a leading advocate for race, religion and faith inclusion, delivering transformative change across Bradford and beyond. As SPOC for the Police Race Action Plan, he has increased Black representation across advisory and scrutiny groups, 10% in the Youth IAG, 13% in the Adult IAG, 13% in the Scrutiny Panel and 25% in the Youth Scrutiny Panel, ensuring communities once excluded now shape policing decisions. Omraw has led extensive engagement with refugee and minority communities, delivered education on FGM, hate crime and safeguarding, and transformed faith‑based learning for 827 student officers. He also established the UK’s first community cell to prevent disorder, earning recognition from the Home Office.
