Positive Role Model Award: Disability
Shauna Elise Hogan is a Special Olympic swimmer, actress, public speaker and advocate from Liverpool. Living with Down’s Syndrome has never stopped her from achieving at the highest levels, she has represented Great Britain twice in Los Angeles and Puerto Rico, winning six medals. Shauna inspired the Hollyoaks episode What’s Your Normal and has appeared in CBBC’s Lagging and The Long Call. She volunteers with Down Syndrome Liverpool, speaks in universities, hospitals and community settings, and supports others with Down’s Syndrome to build confidence. Named one of the Liverpool Echo’s 100 Most Influential Women and a 2022 Commonwealth Games Batonbearer, Shauna is celebrated for her kindness, leadership and positive role‑modelling.
