Positive Role Model Award: Age
Ty Bowring, was adopted as a child. He has a learning disability and autism, and growing up, he found school difficult and often felt he didn’t fit typical expectations. After leaving school, Ty created The Hut Mersea Island CIC to find purpose, which has grown into supporting families facing disability, illness, or difficult times by helping them make special memories by the sea. Losing his brother shaped his understanding of grief and drives his work. Ty aims to be a positive role model and create opportunities for young people like him to build confidence, skills, and purpose.
