Viva LGBTQ+ is Wales’ longest‑running LGBTQ+ youth provision, founded in 1997 after young people in West Rhyl requested a dedicated space to discuss and explore their identities safely. Nearly 30 years on, Viva supports LGBTQ+ young people under 25 across four North Wales counties through youth groups, confidential 1:1 support, informal education and community‑building activities. Its work strengthens confidence, wellbeing and belonging while providing training for professionals, family support and inclusive school sessions. Viva has shaped local authority policies, co‑created national projects and launched Tŷ Pride, Wales’ first LGBTQ+ youth homelessness initiative, creating lasting change and empowering young people to thrive.
