ADD-vance

Nominee Profile
Location: Hertfordshire
The ADD-vance ADHD and Autism Trust is passionate about understanding, embracing and celebrating neurodiversity. We are a charity that supports families across the whole of Hertfordshire and have been working with parents, carers, and professionals to enhance the lives of neurodivergent children, young people and their families for almost 30 years.
Thinking differently can pose huge challenges, so we offer support and education to boost awareness of ADHD and Autism. We know that by empowering and equipping parents & carers with knowledge and skills we can give children and young people the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential. We do this through our helpline, workshops, courses and support groups for parents and carers and social and healthcare professionals. As well as running 6 week empowerment courses for Autistic and ADHD children and young teens on understanding and celebrating their neurodivergence.
Last year ADD-vance supported thousands of families and professionals through our whole range of services. Including 2,000 calls to the helpline, 7,700 parents and professionals trained, 500 families supported through specialist services and 170 Children and Young People supported to understand and celebrate their neurodivergence.
Many people see us as a lifeline: “So thankful for this service and these amazing workshops, I can't believe they are provided free and I am so grateful. Wonderful facilitators with first hand experience, empathy and strategies. I have gone from feeling dumped with a diagnosis to feeling really supported with channels to educate myself and even a helpline to ring to discuss individual scenarios and issues. Just amazing, THANK YOU!”
