Nominee Profile

Location: London
Aidy Smith is a globally recognised TV presenter, journalist and inclusivity advocate whose work champions neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ communities. Diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome at the age of seven, Aidy faced bullying and exclusion—experiences that fuelled his lifelong mission to drive awareness, education, and systemic change.

He is the only global television presenter with Tourette’s and the executive producer of The Three Drinkers on Amazon Prime, airing in over 100 countries. Through this platform—and his podcast Bring a Bottle, which features over 70% underrepresented guests—Aidy amplifies diverse voices across lifestyle, drinks, and media.

He’s the founder of @DisLabeled, a digital platform focused on neurodivergent education, and @sypped, a welcoming space for LGBTQIA+ drinks lovers. In 2024, he launched DRINKLUSIVE—the world’s first mentorship scheme for aspiring drinks writers and creators from underrepresented backgrounds, including those who are LGBTQIA+, disabled or neurodivergent.

Aidy sits on the Inclusivity Board for Soho House Group, helping shape inclusive strategy across its global membership community. Behind the scenes, he also works with Channel 4 as an Editorial Check, ensuring respectful portrayals of LGBTQIA+ and disabled people, and is co-developing a children’s series featuring a Tourette’s character voiced by a child with lived experience.

As the LGBT+ Travel Specialist for The Independent, Aidy spotlights inclusive destinations and works with brands like Booking.com to improve accessibility for neurodivergent travellers. His ambassadorial roles include the Tourette Association of America, Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Scheme and the ADHD Foundation.

Aidy’s mission is clear: to create a world where everyone feels seen, heard, and celebrated—exactly as they are.
