Ameila Snowdon

Nominee Profile
Location: Southend-on-Sea
My name is Amelia Snowdon (she/her). I'm also known as Ami Foxx on social media.
I’m a transgender woman as well as proud mum, life coach, and passionate advocate for LGBTQ+ rights. I use my lived experience—navigating gender-affirming surgery, systemic barriers, and everyday bias—to support and empower others in our community.
Through Amelia’s Angels, I provide practical and emotional support to trans and LGBTQ+ individuals who are often left to figure things out alone. Whether it’s help with admin, self-advocacy, or just being someone who truly listens, my goal is to make life a little easier, a little kinder, and a lot more human.
As someone with ADHD, I know first-hand how neurodivergence can make life feel overwhelming and isolating. I’m open about my struggles with focus, executive function, and burnout—not as weaknesses, but as part of what makes me compassionate, resourceful, and real.
From challenging gatekeeping in healthcare and sport to creating spaces where trans and disabled voices are centred, I lead with heart, humour, and a fierce belief in justice. Being nominated as a Positive LGBTQ+ Role Model means the world to me, because I do this work not for recognition, but because everyone deserves to feel seen, safe, and supported—just as they are.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this
