Our Mission & Ethos
At DABB, we believe in amplifying diverse voices and breaking down systemic barriers. Our mission is to connect underrepresented actors with industry professionals, provide high-quality training, and create direct pathways into the industry.
What We Do
We offer a range of initiatives and resources designed to bridge the gap between actors and industry professionals:
DABB Generals Day: An annual event where Global Majority actors perform for leading industry professionals, including casting directors, agents, and producers. This free event ensures accessibility and has been instrumental in launching the careers of rising stars.
Industry Workshops: Regular workshops led by top casting directors, agents, and acting coaches, enabling actors to develop their skills while making direct industry connections.
Open-Door Policy: We are here to support and answer questions from any Global Majority actor, whether they need career advice, audition guidance, or general industry insight. We believe in accessibility and community—no question is too small, and no actor should feel alone in this journey.
Our Impact & Success Stories
We are proud to have seen actors come into our spaces and make significant impacts in the industry. Talents such as Ambika Mod, Hannah Khalique-Brown, and Ameena El-Kindy, among many others, have participated in our programmes and gone on to achieve notable success.
Collaborations & Recognition
DABB has collaborated with esteemed institutions such as Spotlight, Southwark Playhouse, and Mercury Theatre, reinforcing our commitment to championing actors from underrepresented backgrounds.
