Dan Harris is a proud Autistic ADHD'er and is the Founder and Chairperson of the Neurodiversity in Business charity, set up to transform the employment prospects of the up to 20% of the population who are neurodivergent. His mission is to promote socio-economic inclusion for neurodivergent individuals in the workplace.
Founded in 2022, over 1000 global corporate members have joined NiB’s mission including some of the world's leading companies and largest employers, such as Google, AstraZeneca, Amazon, McDonald's, Rolls Royce, Unilever, O2, and Salesforce. Through these partnerships, he has reached potentially hundreds of thousands of employees and championed neuroinclusion in the workplace. The charity remains led by a team of around 100 volunteers committed to changing the world. Since their public launch at the UK Houses of Parliament in March 2022, NiB has experienced tremendous growth. Additionally, Dan has secured the backing of prominent MP's, Lords and Dames, as well as the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, and the recent Lord Mayor of London, Nicholas Lyons, who have committed to making London the first neuroinclusive city in the world.
As a neurodivergent individual and a parent to an autistic child, Dan understood the value of role models and the impact they can have on inspiring others to pursue their passions and reach their full potential. However, becoming a role model himself was not without its challenges. Initially, he struggled with the reluctance to share personal information on social media as he had always been a very private person. However, after his son was diagnosed as autistic, he realised the importance of raising awareness about his condition and educating others on how to support and accommodate people who are different.
