Endo Buddies – The Hug That People with Endometriosis Need
Endo Buddies is a fully inclusive UK charity dedicated to supporting the wellbeing of people living with Endometriosis. Founded in 2019 (and registered as a charity in 2023) by Katy, our Chief Kindness Officer, the charity was born from personal experience. Katy spent 21 years searching for a diagnosis, eventually receiving it in 2012. She has since undergone four surgeries and faced the isolating, often overlooked, reality of living with Endometriosis. Determined to turn her pain into purpose, Katy created Endo Buddies to provide the support she never had.
Our mission is to foster hope, resilience, and connection, empowering individuals with Endometriosis to live full and vibrant lives. We run a number of compassionate and practical initiatives, including our Surgery Care Package Project – thoughtful packs filled with comforting and useful items, delivered to patients undergoing Endometriosis surgery at two Hull hospitals and one in York, and we post them out nationally too.
Our work goes beyond hospital care. We’ve partnered with SHOUT to provide 24/7 mental health support via text. We also host Community Wellbeing Pop-Up Hubs in rural areas across East Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire and North Yorkshire – bringing support to where it's needed most. We raise awareness at events, deliver talks to healthcare professionals and workplaces, and collaborate with organisations to reach underserved communities, including refugees, prisoners, and sex workers.
At Endo Buddies, we believe no one should feel alone in their Endometriosis journey. We’re the hug, the voice, and the community that’s been missing for so many.
