Nominee Profile

Location: Farnham
My name is Evelyn Scott, and I am a former academic and women's health advocate based in Surrey. I have been struggling with painful periods and debilitating symptoms since my teens, and despite numerous visits to doctors, I was told that periods were supposed to be painful. I was finally diagnosed with endometriosis at the age of 30, but by that point, I had lost jobs, my independence and ability to function. I have also been diagnosed with severe PTSD as a result of medical trauma. It is now my mission to ensure that this never happens to anyone else.
My book on medical misogyny and endometriosis will be published in Spring 2026, and analyses the systemic failures that women with gynaecological disease face at every stage of their lives.
