Hi im Tasha, 33 years old from the midlands. I'm a mum to 4 boys. In which my oldest TJ is 15 years old and has a dual diagnosis of down syndrome and autism. Over the years I've has to be his voice in many situations and fight for his rights. One thing I have been extremely passionate about is helping him finding his voice. I have done this through the Makaton language program and shared our communication journey on social media. Throughout our journey we have managed to help 100s of families now be able to communicate with their children.
I've been able to grow a huge platform on tiktok equating over 369000 followers in which we have now been able to start breaking communication barriers and change the worlds perception on disabilities which is something I'm hugely passionate about advocating for.
We have spent the last 2 years also fundraising to support charities and our local SEND provision to support children with learning difficulties. This has meant that myself and the platform I've built has changed the lives of families nationwide.
On top of this I have also been learning to become a Makaton tutor myself so that I can take this skill into school and community settings. I am unbelievably proud of the achievements I've made and I'm so greatful for everybody's continued support.
