Positive Role Model Award

Positive Role Model Award for Disability: Sponsor - BT

Nominee Profile

Location: Newark
Hi, I'm Via, and I'm a freelance arts practitioner, writer, producer and access consultant. My specialisms are in theatre and working with learning disabled and neurodivergent communities. I graduated with First Class Honours in Applied Drama in the Community nearly two years ago, completed a DYCP fund, founded a company, and I have worked over the last two years with Bamboozle Theatre Company, Toolbox Drama, The Hepworth Wakefield, Rhubarb Theatre, Shooting Fish Theatre Company, Taylor Made Arts, Transported Art, and more. Additionally, I've published a book entitled Creativity in Autism which aims to challenge the stereotype that autistic people cannot be creative, and delivered access consultancy on Access Riders with Junction Goole and Toolbox Drama. I am honoured to be nominated for this award, and hope to use this highly privileged position to amplify the voices of the people I work with, as well as helping to provide them with an even more well-developed practice.
