Pride in Gloucestershire

Nominee Profile
Location: Gloucestershire
Pride in Gloucestershire stands as a beacon of celebration and advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community across our county. We strive to connect, uplift, and inspire. Our mission is to combat homophobia, biphobia, and transphobia while pushing for continual progress, acceptance, and inclusivity.
Pride in Gloucestershire organises a wide range of events and initiatives across the county, designed to foster community, celebrate diversity, and provide safe spaces for connection, learning, and support. Our main event, the annual Pride Day in Gloucester Park, brings together thousands of people for a vibrant celebration of LGBTQ+ identity and culture. We also host Pride events in Cheltenham, Cirencester, Cinderford, and Tewkesbury. These county-wide events are crucial for connecting with potentially isolated LGBTQ+ individuals, breaking down barriers, and building a stronger, more inclusive community.
We also host a variety of social and community events throughout the year. These events offer safe and welcoming spaces where community members can connect, make friends, and enjoy shared experiences.
We also support dedicated community networks. Trans in Gloucestershire provides a supportive environment and advocacy for trans individuals, helping to amplify their voices and address specific needs. For the kink community, K&F in Gloucestershire creates a safe and understanding space for connection and education, fostering inclusivity within this often-marginalised group.
To create a more inclusive environment in workplaces, we’ve established GLIDE (Gloucestershire LGBTQ+ Inclusive Development for Employers), our employers' network. GLIDE brings together local businesses and organisations committed to LGBTQ+ inclusion, to build inclusive work environments across Gloucestershire.
Through these initiatives, Pride in Gloucestershire continually strives to make a positive impact, creating spaces where everyone in our LGBTQ+ community can feel seen, supported, and celebrated.
