Proud 2 b Parents is honored to be nominated for the Community Organisation Award for LGBT at the National Diversity Awards! We are a dedicated, inclusive organisation that supports LGBT+ parents, carers, and their children, ensuring we reduce isolation, raise awareness and challenge the inequalities they face.
As the only organisation of its kind in the UK, we provide direct support services in Greater Manchester, including peer support groups, events, and workshops that celebrate and uplift LGBT+ families. Our work doesn’t stop there—we also provide national training and consultancy to professionals, ensuring services become truly inclusive and representative of diverse family structures.
We actively challenge barriers within health, education, and social care by working with organisations such as NHS trusts, local authorities, and adoption and fostering agencies. Through our advocacy, we influence national policies, ensuring the voices of LGBT+ parents and carers are heard at every level.
Our recent projects include rolling out trauma-informed training for professionals working with LGBT+ parents, collaborating with national adoption and fostering bodies, and advocating for LGBT+ Parents and Carers Day (September 19th), a crucial moment for visibility and recognition.
