Sandi Wassmer has been a trailblazer in the fields of equality, inclusion, and accessibility since becoming enei’s CEO in 2020, making history as the UK's only blind female CEO with ADHD. A passionate human rights advocate, she has been instrumental in shaping policies and practices that drive meaningful change across government, industry, and the third sector.
After losing her sight in 2008 and being diagnosed with ADHD in 2009, Sandi became a powerful advocate for accessibility, co-authoring the Government’s e-Accessibility Action Plan. In 2011, she developed the "Ten Principles of Inclusive Web Design," which served as the foundation for the .gov.uk website, ensuring an accessible online experience for all users.
Sandi’s career spans the commercial and charity sectors. She held leadership roles as COO of SyFy UK and MD of Copious before transitioning to the charity sector. Additionally, she has served as a Trustee for the RNIB and as a Non-Executive Director at Mental Health First Aid England.
Recognised for her contributions, Sandi became a liveryman of the Worshipful Company of the Spectacle Makers and received the Freedom of the City of London in 2022. Through her visionary leadership and advocacy, Sandi continues to inspire and build a more inclusive society.
